Second Straight Victory for Rajasthan Boys
Kerala girls won their second Match beating defending Champion Punjab
Coimbatore, May : Kerala scrape past defending champion Punjab 76-75 to register their second straight victory in the 36th Youth National Basketball Championship – Boys & Girls under 16, organised by the National Basketball Federation, here at the indoor stadium of PSG College of Technology.
The day saw another close match in girls as Delhi beat Chhattisgarh ( 78-72).
In boys division Rajasthan had to fight till the end against Karnataka boys who put up a good show of defense before beating them with the score of (65-63).
The girls match Kerala had to survive closely fought one as in a match which the lead change 6 times and tied up 12 times.
The Punjab which led 18-11 and ended up the first half keeping the lead 39- 35 but went the 3rd quarter under pressure allowing Kerala to take a 52-51 lead. For Kerala Ann Mary was the leading scorer with 25 points followed by Aleena Antony with 21 and For Punjab NBA Global Camper Harshimran Kaur scoring 38 points.
In other league matches of the day in boys Delhi beat Madhya Pradesh (65-23) Andhra Pradesh beat Jammu and Kashmir 84-47,Uttarakhand beat Goa(70-34) Chandigarh bt Jharkhand 92-35 ,Bihar beat Puducherry 63-50 and Assam Scrape past Odisha 66-63.
In girls other matches Tamil Nadu had no difficulty in beating Maharashtra 74-69 and to register their second victory in Group B.
