Koratty 15th August 2019-Kochi Customs and Palakkad Police are the 3 on 3 Kerala State Basketball Champions in Men and Women respectively

When the Kerala State 3 on 3 Championship concluded at the Naipunya College Indoor Stadium in Koratty organised by Kerala Basketball Association

The champions will now qualified to the 3 X 3 National Basketball Championship for Men and Women for FIBA Asia Pro Quest 3x3 India Qualifiers 2019 that will take place at the Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Courts, Bengaluru from 22nd to 24th August 2019 organised by Basketball Federation of India

The men’s Division which was won by Kochi Customs consist of Internationals Eudric Perera and Basil Philip, Shinumon Augustin and Robin S beat Palakkad Police 21-20

The women’s Division which won by team from Palakkad Police which consisted if an experienced bunch anchored by International Smruthy Radhakrishnan, Sonumol Soman and Surya P R defeated the young vibrant bunch of KSEB Thiruvananthapuram 18-16

Earlier Semi Finals Men Kochi customs beat Kottayam St Josephs Club (21-14) and Palakad Police beat Kochi Roshans 7 Star (18-17)

In Semi Final in Women Trivandrum KSEB beat Kochi Roshans 7star (18-12) and Palakkad Police beat Irinjalakuda St Josephs (18-17)

Total 10 teams in Men and 7 in women participated in this championship which played on a League cum knock out basis

In men Group to decide the semi finalist both groups has to do with tie breakers, in group A both Kochi Roshans 7 Star and Kochi Customs came out with 3 wins and a lose, since Roshans beat Customs, Roshans came topping the group A and Customs placed as 2nd

In group B it was an triple tie between Palakad Police, Thrissur Kerala Varma and Kottayam St Josephs, they tied up with 3 wins and a lose, better goal average put St Josephs on top and Palakkad Police came as second.

In women Group A Kochi Roshans 7 star topped Group A and Palakkad Police came second

In Group B Irinjaklakuda St Josephs came first and Trivandrum EB finshed as second and Qualified to the Semi Finals
