EASTERN RAILWAY AND TAMIL NADU WOMEN FROM GROUP A , INDIAN ARMY AND SHRI GURU GOBIND COLLEGE CHANDIGARH FROM GROUP B MEN CONFIRM SEMI FINALS ON DAY-2 AT THE 33RD FEDERATION CUP IN NOIDA

Noida 13th June 2019 :The 33rd Federation Cup has tipped off at the Noida . The best club/state teams from the top 8 states in both the Men’s and Women’s category with addition of the hosts RDSO in Men are participating in this 6 day long tournament. The championship is being organised by the Uttar Pradesh Basketball Association under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India at Gautham Budda University Noida.

Tamil Nadu Women’s team are on a 2-0 run in the tournament so far, they have shown some great team basketball as they beat Delhi 89-71 with Sathya top scoring with 23 points ,Darshini with 19, and Pushpa made 11 yesterday on a late night match they had an easy victory over Karnataka 66-39.

In Group A women defending Champion Eastern Railway continued their 2nd victory as they beat Karnataka 71-68 with International player Madhukumari top scoring with 27 points which confirms the semi final berth with Tamil Nadu the two teams unbeaten in the group.

Last year runner up Chhattisgarh taste their first victory in Group B as they beat host Uttar Pradesh 67-59 while Kerala Girls continued their winning streak as they beat Maharashtra 87-59 with five of them scoring double digit scores captain Poojamol leading the scoring with 21 points.

In men Group A Punjab Police had their second straight victory as they beat RDSO Lucknow 68-48.

In Men Group A defending Champions Income Tax Chennai had an easy victory over BSF Jodhpur within the score 78-42 with International Rikin Pethani top scoring with 12 points.

In Group B Guru Gobind College registered their second victory as they beat Central Railway 102-95 with International Ravi Bhardwaraj again put up a great show in the Final Quarter and top scoring for his team with 20 points which confirms their semi final berth in Group B along with Indian Army.
