INDIAN ARMY, PUNJAB POLICE ,TAMIL NADU AND EASTERN RAILWAY THROUGH TO THE FINALE

Indian Army  defeated  Income Tax Chennai, 99-51  to meet  Punjab Police who beat  Shri  Guru Gobind College  Chandigarh 101-65 while  in Women Tamil Nadu  defeated  Maharashtra  97-60  and  Eastern Railway   beat Kerala  96-81 in  the finals  of the  33rd Federation Cup Basketball Championship organised by the Uttar Pradesh Basketball Association  under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India at Gautham Budda University in Noida.

Semis 1: Tamil Nadu women bt  Maharashtra  97-60

In the first semi finals, Tamil Nadu put together two dominant scoring runs at the start of the first quarter, with a 28-11 lead  further extended it to 50-25 at the interval to seal the deal against Maharashtra, the Tamil Nadu offence was well oiled and they patiently moved the ball from side to side forcing Maharastra  to guard both sides of the floor.

Dharshini was he leading scorer with 19 points for Tamil Nadu  followed  Sathya with 16  Sreevidhya scoring 14 and Pushpa contributing 10  for Maharashtra Sruthi Aravind Came up with 21 points .

Semis 2:  Indian Army  bt Income Tax Chennai 99-51

Showing steady improvement in the Championship Indian Army bt  Income Tax Chennai  after leading 56-34 at the lemon time for Indian Army Suresh Kr Bijaria was the leading scorer with 20 points followed by Sunil with 19 points  for Income Tax Rikhin Pethani was the only player with a double digit score as he scored 18 points for the team.

Semis 3: Eastern railway  women  bt Kerala 96-81

Eastern Railway  which had a good start against defending champion Kerala as they lead 27-18 in the first quarter and finished up the Interval with a 52-34 lead for Eastern Railway Libina MJ was the leading scorer with 28 points followed by tall 6 footer Poonam Chathurvedi contributing 26 points and was supported well by Sitamani Tudu with 21 points and Madhu Kuari Makinh 15  for Kerala which really was handicapped by Jeena PS who is in Australia playing at the NBL1 league  fellow departmental mare Stephy Nixon came  as  the top scorer with 23 points.

Semis 4: Punjab Police beat Shri  Guru Gobind College Chandigarh 101-65

Punjab Police had no difficulty in beating Shri Gobind College Chandigarh 101-65  after a leading at the half time 54-34 with almost five of them in double figures Ranbeer Singh and Anrit Pal leading the scoring with 22 and 21 points respectively  for Punjab Police Jatin was the top scorer for Chandigar side with 22 points.
