36TH YOUTH NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 5 - QUARTERFINALS

Coimbatore 18th May 2019 :   Punjab, Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu from Girls Rajasthan, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab in boys have confirmed their Quarter final position in last eight here for the  36th Youth National Basketball Championship 2019, for boys and girls here at PSG Management Indoor Stadium in Coimbatore.

The Championship is being organized by the Coimbatore District Basketball Association under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu  Basketball Association and the Basketball Federation of India.

In the girls pre quarter finals Chandigarh will meet Uttar Pradesh and Delhi will take on Haryana in the Morning and the winners will meet Kerala and Tamil Nadu respectively in the evening.

In other quarter finals in girls Punjab will Take on Maharastra and Rajasthan will meet Karnataka.

In Boys pre quarter finals Chandigarh will meet the loser of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu and will Meet Rajasthan in the Quarter final.

And in the second pre quarter final, Madhya Pradesh will meet Uttar Pradesh and the winner will take on Haryana in Quarter final.

Kerala will now take on Punjab and Karnataka will meet the winners of Maharastra and Tamil Nadu in the quarter final.

 In Boys Chandigarh will meet

Kerala Boys through to the quarters from Group A

Kerala boys in their last encounter defeated Delhi 70-40 to make the quarter finals as the 3rd Team from Group A  Kerala Now will meet the Loser of Punjab and Haryana in Quarter finals.

Kerala leads 38-27  at  the half time with Abhinav Ck  top scoring with 21 points  and Prnav Prince contributing 17 points for the victory for Delhi Ashish was the top scorer with 13 points.

Mixed fortune for Rajasthan

Rajasthan boys defeated Madhya Pradesh 68-56 to became undefeated from Group A  while  Girls went on to an nail biting finish as they lost to Delhi 54-55  making  Group A  triple tie for the 2nd  3rd and 4th Position with  better score average Rajasthan was placed 2nd and  Punjab in 3rd Spot and Delhi finishes 4th  and have to Play the Pre Quarter.

In  boys match  for Rajasthan Digvijay Singh  scoring 25 points  and was well  assisted by Jitendra Kr Sharma with 19 points  for Madhya Pradesh Harsh Sing was the leading scorer with 27 points.

Punjab girls drubbed Chhattisgarh

Punjab Girls drubbed Chhattisgarh 68-31 to make Chhattisgarh to level 2 next year Harshimran Kaur again  the star for Punjab as she scored 33 points for her team victory  they now will meet Maharastra in the quarter final.

 Tamil Nadu Girls topped group B defeating Karnataka

Tamil Nadu Girls defeated Karnataka 52-36  to came undefeated and topped Group B and will meet the winners of Delhi and Haryana in the quarter final.

Haryana beat Punjab to Top Group B in Boys

 Going in the final group match unbeaten Haryana defeated Punjab 97-88  to top the Group B Deependar and Sahil scored 27 points each for the victory and for Punjab Eknoor singh was the top scorer with 26.

Mr Vaselin Matic Coaches Clinic

Mr Vaselin Matic from Serbia the Newly appointed coach of the Indian team for men and Boys conducted an Coaches clinic for Officials and Coaches  at the stadium where more than 150 participated

He had an hour spend with the selected boys demonstrating the variations in Skill in dribbling and Shooting
