Kerala’s Sejin Mathews who hails from Tiruvalla is among the 12 basketball players selected from India for the fourth Asia Pacific Team Camp organised by the NBA.The camp for elite young basketball talent in the region will be held at Zhejiang Provincial Sports Vocational Technical Institute in Hangzhou, China from June 18 to 21.

About Asia Pacific Camp
The Asia Pacific Team Camp will unite 40 male elite basketball players from four countries and regions in Asia – Australia, China, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand – for four days of intense basketball drills and competition directed by NBA players and coaches. Campers will also participate in daily life skills seminars focused on leadership and healthy living.
Joining the NBA players as camp coaches will be NBA assistant coaches Thomas Bialaszewski and Thomas Scott of the Los Angeles Lakers, Matt Brase of the Houston Rockets, Rich Fernando of the Miami Heat and Charles Klask of the Detroit Pistons.
“The camp is one of the NBA’s key initiatives to develop basketball talent in this region,” said NBA China CEO David Shoemaker. “With the support of the CBA, Nanjing Sports Bureau and NIKE, we are able to give elite young players the opportunity to develop their skills on and off the court.”

Muhammad was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 14th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and then was traded to the Timberwolves. He averaged 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in the 2014-15 season.
Cardinal was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2000 NBA Draft. He played for the Pistons, Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks during his 12-year NBA career.
As the presenting partner, NIKE will outfit the campers and coaches with apparel.
The camp has previously been held in Melbourne (2011) and Nanjing, China (2013 and 2015).
